Allow person to take short regular breaks to eat and help them control their sugar levels.
Give them time out to test blood glucose levels
Provide a clear, private place to inject insulin and do their blood tests
Allow time out for medical checks
Transfer the employee to low risk areas
Under the Equality Act 2010 diabetes can be classed as a disability and employees can claim compensation from employers that fail to make ‘reasonable adjustments’ to the workplace to enable staff with diabetes to do their jobs.
