We all wish for the sun to come so that we can socialise with friends with a BBQ at home. Relaxing in the garden with ice cold beverages, music, game playing but sometimes the dangers of BBQ’s can be overlooked.
Here’s some useful tips to consider when planning a BBQ
Make sure the BBQ itself is placed in a safe environment away from any hazards such as, flammable materials, children playing, and trees/bushes.
Only use firelighters or starter fuels designed for BBQs.
DO NOT pour flammable liquids onto the BBQ to help get the flame going.
Keep a bucket of water, sand or a fire extinguisher near to BBQ at all times
With gas BBQ’s make sure the area is well ventilated
Ensure the gas is completely turned off at the valve after use.
